The NJC Past-Vs-Present Games on 29 August 2009 (Saturday) was a memorable experience and a success by all accounts. The weather was kind as the rain clouds blew in the opposite direction and the sun was beaming gently as the games were played - basketball, soccer and tennis.
The day would not have been possible if not for the enthusiasm of the participants. There were about 75 participants from the past and present batches– raring to expend their energy that day.
It was a lovely morning and such events only serve to unite the College and Alumni even more.
The event would not have been successfully organized without the dedication and hard work from the following :
This event will be reported in the next issue of NJConnect and the pictures can be seen under the events tab Past Vs Present Games : 29- Aug 2009

Forty years ago, not long after Singapore’s independence, our then Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew opened an education institution based on meritocracy & secularism, & without affiliation to any secondary school. This year, we come together to commemorate the founding of National Junior College with a dinner in our very own college hall!
Tickets for the dinner are priced at S$700 per table of 10. Dinner will be Chinese sit-down style, although halal or vegetarian diets can be arranged upon confirmation, not later than 20 April. Dress code : Shirt & Tie.
As seating capacity in our hall is limited to 50 tables, ex-collegians are invited to book & pay for their bookings early to avoid disappointment – bookings are strictly on first-paid basis, whole tables preferred.
It is hoped that all batches of ex-collegians will join in this simple but meaningful commemoration of our start of the history of junior colleges in Singapore.
